Lead up to the Lake Garda 2007 moth worlds

Everyone is going flat out at the moment in the leadup to the moth worlds in three
weeks time. There are some reliable form guides being posted on the UK
website
and Scott’s
blog
. If you look through the posts and with Rohan’s latest posts there
are a few interesting titbits of information.

- The mistress has new polyhedral foils,
that have potential to be very quick.

- The competition for KA sails is starting to mount with: P&B, Hyde, Truflow
and Gemmell all coming up with KA clones. If only they didn’t look so ugly. My
vote is still with the KA product to be the fastest out there. (That’s why I bought
one for the new boat).

- Rohan has earned himself the nickname of ‘Mr ten percent’ after repeated claims
of speed improvements on his blog.

- The brits are claming that Rohan ‘could struggle with the new competitive experience
in the fleet.’. Now the British cricket team probably claimed they could win too …
He’ll be right up there.

- People are still using planning to use oversize MSL9’s. Whilst it’s not cheating, I
thing it’s time we finally killed the grandfather clause.

- Allegedly, ‘Rohan will bring a second smaller set of foils especially for the strong
wind expected at Garda’ and a new high wind sail. If it’s true, that’s not very
one design of him now is it. :-)

Also it seems that all the Hungry Tiger foilers at St. George are up for sale,
as everyone at the club upgrades to new boats. They are all very
quick and sorted, so get em while you can.
